Han Ba Tang

Tasting great food and delicious cocktails with other foodies = a lovely Sunday evening

I was invited to Han Ba Tang by Acorn Communications for a tasting of their menu, as well as a seasonal menu in preparation for Halloween, with a couple other foodies.

I've been here previously when it just opened, and had a great experience. I love the interior of Han Ba Tang, as it gives off a very casual and comfortable atmosphere.

I started off with some tea, as it was a pretty chilly day, but then we quickly switched our beverage choices to cocktails.

I got the Ocean Popsicle, which is blue curacao, raspberry sour, and southern comfort. It was absolutely delicious! Very dangerous though because it tastes so good and you can't taste the alcohol.

And then it was time to eat.. Here is what we got to try:

Tuna Tartare: Yellow fin tuna, cucumber, onion, garlic oil, deep fried korean sweet yam, deep fried perilla leaf

Taco Platter with Kalbi Beef (not pictured), Spicy Pork (above),

Unagi eel, and,

Fried lobster tacos.

Kimchi Fries with Bulgogi: Extra crispy fries topped with kimchi, aioli gravy, sizzling bulgogi and green onions

Black Calamari: Calamari roasted in seaweed sauce, cucumber, thai chili and dried baby shrimp

Crispy King Prawn: Lightly battered king prawns deep fried with onions and topped with taro chips and habanero aioli

Beef Kalbijjim: Succulent, moist, fall of the bone beef that's been braised for 24 hours

Devil's Eyes Meat Balls: Sweet soy sauce marinated beef meat balls, korean chili pepper paste, white mushrooms, okra, green pepper onion, thai chili peppers, and sesame seeds

Dark Matter Pasta: Kalbi beef, black sesame puree, fettuccini, green onions, and red pepper threads

After eating like kings, we got a chance to try all of HBT's infused soju flavours. Yes....all of them.
Oh boyyyy, I don't really like soju but I had to try it! My favourite two was definitely the pineapple and strawberry. Lol I love my fruity flavours. All the other ones were either too strong or it just didn't suit my taste. You need to try this if you ever go!

And if you didn't think that was enough, we also had this dessert - green tea ice cream on a slice of chocolate cake with candied walnuts and dates topped with red bean sauce.

Overall, I had yet another great experience at Han Ba Tang. If you're ever in the area and thinking of somewhere to eat, I would highly suggest you to try HBT.
